State House race: Democrat Gong-Gershowitz wins voter tally in Cook County

Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz led Republican Peter Lee in votes cast in Cook County for the District 17 state House race, according to the latest vote count.

Gong-Gershowitz appeared to outpace Lee by a margin of 37.7 percent on Tuesday in the county.

In comparison, the 2014 winner, Democrat Laura Fine, won by a margin of 16.8 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Republican Kathleen Myalls, who received 15,534 votes to Fine's 21,809.
