CITY OF BERWYN: Lane closures on Harlem Avenue begin October 15

Laneclose

City of Berwyn issued the following announcement on Oct. 12.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that repairs to Harlem Avenue (Illinois 43)

over the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal in Forest View and Lyons will require lane closures

beginning Monday, Oct. 15, weather permitting.

The project, consisting of structural steel repairs as well as other collateral work, will require

closing the right lane in each direction during daytime hours.

The work is expected to be complete by Nov. 26.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are

urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed

limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
