Village of Hillside Board of the Whole will meet Oct. 8.

Here is the agenda provided by the Board:

1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

A. Approval of Resolution 18-06, Releasing

Certain Executive Session Minutes,

B. Reminder: Mail-in Ballot Applications for the November 6, 2018 Election are available at the Village Hall or online at the Cook County Clerk's website at cookcountyclerk.com. Completed forms must be received at the County Clerk's Office by Thursday, November 1, 2018.

C. Reminder: Early voting is October 22- November 5, 2018. Nearest polling places are the Villages of Bellwood, 3200 Washington, or Melrose Park, 1000 N. 25th Avenue. Additional information is available at the Cook County Clerk's website.

A Proposal to refinance the 2008 Hillside Town Center bond issues.

B. Krispy Kreme grand opening is tomorrow, October 9th, at 7:30 a.m.

7. FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE: (Trustee Kramer)

A. Approval of gross payroll for period September 15, through September 28, 2018, in the amount of $288,993.40.

B. Approval of bills for the month of October, 2018.

C. Approval to purchase property at 305 Oak Ridge for the amount of $190,000. The property is in the Roosevelt Road TIF District.

8. PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE:(Trustee Walter)

A. Approve purchase of 2019 John Deere 410L (Decision Item) Backhoe Loader in the amount of $130,337.53 from Westside Tractor, 1560 N. Old Rand Rd, Wauconda, IL 60084. The proposed pricing includes a Wain-Roy Bucket System, Extending Boom, new hydraulic breaking hammer and trading in of existing 1998 John Deere 410E. The purchase has been budgeted in the Equipment Replacement Fund.

B. Approve proposal in the amount of $650.00 (Decision Item) per service (provided bi-annually) from Waukegan Roofing, 1320 Gladstone Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085, for bi-annual roof maintenance and inspection services at the Community Center located at 1 N. Lind Avenue.

9. PUBLIC SAFETY AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE: (Trustee Watson)

A. Approval of Ordinance 18-17 Amending Sec. 90-81.1 Vehicle Seizure and Impoundment.

B. The Hillside Police Department has received an $82,460.16 STEP (Sustained Traffic Enforcement Grant) from the Illinois Department of Transportation. The grant provides funding for seat belt compliance and drunk and impaired driving on certain high traffic days.

C.  Approval to purchase a 2019 Chevy Tahoe (Decision Item) from Miles Chevrolet, 150 W. Pershing Road, Decatur, IL 62526 for $41,845.00, to replace the Fire Chief's car that was totaled when hit in an accident.

D. Letter received from Rafael Cortes, Safety Coordinator at Westrock, 250 N. Mannheim, Hillside, thanking Firefighter/Paramedic David Buie for leading 3 training sessions at their facility. He also wanted to commend him on doing an excellent job with his delivery and skill when doing live fire training.

E. Community Awareness Meeting is Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room.

10. ZONING COMMITTEE:

A. Approval to accept and place on file the findings of the October 2, 2018 Zoning Board granting of petition submitted by Karnak Construction & Development LLC, 47 W. Polk Street, Suite 230, Chicago, IL 60605, on the consideration for a variance in R-2 Zoning District, for a side yard set-back from the required 5 feet to less than 3 feet, at 34 Oak Ridge Avenue, Hillside, IL 60162.

11. TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE: (Trustee Delgado)

A. Approval of maintenance agreement with Call One Networks, LLC, 225 W. Wacker, Floor 8, Chicago, IL 60606, for $5, 259.00 for the Municipal Building and Fire Department phone system.

12. COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMITTEE: (Trustee Farries)

A. Hillside Youth Commission is hosting (Information Item) Halloween Festivities at the Hillside Commons on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Costume judging will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the bonfire and wagon rides. Trick or Treating hours are 2:00-6:00 p.m.

B. Report on the Cemetery Tour held Saturday, October 6, 2018.

13. VILLAGE PRESIDENT:

A. Veterans reception to be held Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Best Western. Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Invitations will be in the mail.

B. Hillside's 16th Annual Veterans Day Parade is Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. Grand Marshal is Hillside resident, U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, Ken Patete.

C. Program to provide cab service to Veterans going to Hines VA Hospital.

D. Proclamation for Proviso West Class of 1968 Reunion.

14. ANNOUNCEMENTS :

A. Next Regular Meeting of the Village Board scheduled for 7:30 P.M. on Monday, October 22, 2018, in the Board Room of the Municipal Complex, 425 Hillside Avenue, Hillside, IL, 60162.
