OAK PARK VILLAGE CLERK: Police questioning multiple individuals following early morning report of shots fired

Oak Park Village Clerk issued the following announcement on July 29.

A 25-year-old Brookfield man has been charged in connection with the report of shots fired early yesterday morning in southeast Oak Park. Danile Regalado of the 3200 block of Madison Avenue was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm. Bond was set at $5,000 and his next court date is set for Aug. 3.Oak Park Police are questioning eight individuals in connection with a report of shots fired early this morning on South Taylor Avenue near Roosevelt Road.

No injuries were reported.

Responding to the call at about 5:30 a.m., Police surrounded the home on Taylor Avenue where the shots were believed to have occurred. The individuals inside the house refused Police orders to come out.

The neighborhood was cordoned off, nearby residents alerted to stay inside their homes and the Cook County Sheriff SWAT team called in to assist with entry into the house.

Officers entered the house at about 9:30 a.m. Seven individuals inside surrendered without incident. An eighth individual associated with the address who was not inside when the incident occured also is being questioned.
