Central Stationickney Fire Protection District responded to 196 calls in 2017 - 9.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Centralickney included 10 fires - four structure fires and six other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $44,050 in fire loss - or about $4,405 per fire.

The department also received 185 false calls, including two malicious calls and 183 other false calls.
