River Grove Fire Department responded to 152 calls in 2017 - 65.2 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in River Grove included 41 fires - 23 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 16 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $189,100 in fire loss - or about $4,612 per fire.

The department also received 109 false calls, including two malicious calls and 107 other false calls.

The River Grove Fire Department had an annual budget of $1,539,607 in 2017.
