OAK PARK VILLAGE CLERK: Man charged in shooting incident

Oak Park Village Clerk issued the following announcement on May 25.

A Chicago man has been charged with one count of aggravated battery with a firearm and one count of possession of a controlled substance in connection with the shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon at 800 W. Madison Street.

Mark Jackson, 25, of the 5100 block of W. Fulton Street is one of two suspects who were taken into custody following the incident. The second person was released without charge upon the completion of the investigation.

Jackson will appear in bond court Saturday at 2600 S. California Ave. in Chicago.

The victim remains hospitalized after surgery and is in stable condition.
