Analysis: Schiller Park pays $5.13 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Schiller Park Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.4 percent of the $1,308,036 the Schiller Park Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.13 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Schiller Park contributed $1,091,332 to the fund, which saw a $320,433 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $212,580, or 16.3 percent, in 2016. Another $4,124 came from other unspecified sources.
