Analysis: Riverside pays $5.32 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Riverside Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.2 percent of the $1,144,964 the Riverside Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.32 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Riverside contributed $963,918 to the fund, which saw a $226,487 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $180,996, or 15.8 percent, in 2016. Another $50 came from other unspecified sources.
