Analysis: La Grange pays $6.84 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Lagrange Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 87.3 percent of the $1,257,809 the Lagrange Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $6.84 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, La Grange contributed $1,097,454 to the fund, which saw a $96,711 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $160,338, or 12.7 percent, in 2016. Another $17 came from other unspecified sources.
