Analysis: Hillside pays $5.09 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Hillside Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.2 percent of the $1,528,338 the Hillside Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.09 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Hillside contributed $1,271,953 to the fund, which saw a $49,494 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $249,705, or 16.3 percent, in 2016. Another $6,680 came from other unspecified sources.
