Analysis: Cicero pays $6.55 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Cicero Firefighters' Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 86.7 percent of the $4,724,932 the Cicero Firefighters' Pension Fund brought in last year, or $6.55 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Cicero contributed $4,097,789 to the fund, which saw a $686,411 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $624,746, or 13.2 percent, in 2016. Another $2,397 came from other unspecified sources.
