Analysis: Berkeley pays $3.30 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Berkeley Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.2 percent of the $542,585 the Berkeley Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.30 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Berkeley contributed $419,103 to the fund, which saw a $136,387 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $126,841, or 23.4 percent, in 2016.
