Stone Park FD responds to 135 fires in 2016

Stone Park Fire Department responded to 322 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the West Cook News.

The calls in Stone Park included 135 fires - 110 structure fires, five vehicle fires and 19 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $417,300 in fire loss - or about $3,091 per fire.

The department also received 187 false calls.
