The second in a series of town hall meetings for the 10 communities within the borders of Proviso Township High School District No. 209 will take place Monday, Oct. 3, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Stone Park Village Hall, located at 1825 North 32nd Ave. in Stone Park.
The first town hall meeting was held at the Maywood Village Council Chambers Sept. 22 where community members asked questions of Dr. Jesse J. Rodríguez, superintendent of District No. 209, on topics ranging from curriculum to truancy.
Also in attendance were Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for District No. 209 Kim Echols and Dr. Bessie Karvelas, principal at Proviso Mathematics and Science Academy. Teresa D. McKelvy, president of the District No. 209 Board of Education, and board members Theresa L. Kelly, Claudia Medina and Ned Wagner participated in the discussions as well.
