Bellwood trustees discuss workers' compensation case

The Bellwood Board of Trustees discussed a proposed settlement in a workers' compensation case at its meeting this week.

The Bellwood Board of Trustees and mayor act as the village’s corporate authorities and exercise any municipal powers that have not been specifically delegated to another office or board in the city. The board contains six trustees who are elected at large for four-year terms.

The Village Board of the Village of Bellwood will conduct a regular board meeting on

Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. in the Village Board Room at 3200 Washington

Boulevard, Bellwood, IL 60104-1984 for the purposes of considering the following agenda:

1 Call to Order

2 Roll Call: Mayor Pasquale, Trustees Ciavattone, Murphy, Holman, Robinson, Delgado, Nightengale

a Administration – Trustee Robinson, Chairman; Trustee Ciavattone, Member,

i Departmental Report,

ii Item G – A Proclamation recognizing the life of Louise Jenkins and wishing her a

Happy 90th Birthday,

iii Item H - Special Counsel and the Village’s Third Party Administrator have reached

an amicable resolution to the worker’s compensation claim referenced herein and as

a result are recommending settlement of the claim in the amount of $119,073.90

ii Item A - Due to recent legislation in order for the Village to preserve 9-1-1 funding it

must participate in a joint 9-1-1 authority,

iii Item B- As a result of recent legislation in order for the village to continue to receive

certain 9-1-1 funding it must participate in a joint venture with other municipalities,

the intergovernmental agreement provides for the participation meeting the

requirements of the new legislation

i Authorize payment of bills,

ii Ratify investments,

iii Item D- The agreement provides for a renewal of the existing contract at a reduced

pricing structure

ii Item F- The project consists of replacement and repair of certain alleys that are in

disrepair, the amount of the lowest responsible bid for the project is $119,642.50,

ii Item C - The agreement engages the company for the purpose of providing additional

grass cutting, landscaping and maintenance on village designated properties,

ii Item E - The agreement engages the company for the purpose of providing preventive

maintenance on various pieces of equipment throughout the village which includes

but is not limited to the following; gas boilers, rooftop compressor unit, air handler

units and various compressors,
