Proviso Township High School District 209 parents, students, teachers and staffers now can more easily stay connected and informed through the district's new Facebook page and Twitter account.
The district’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/provisod209, will address a multitude of ongoing topics, while its Twitter account, www.twitter.com/pths209, will be used for breaking news, school closings, special events and community alerts.
Covering the latest events and news concerning Proviso East High School, Proviso West High School, and Proviso Mathematics and Science Academy, these sites will strengthen the district's web presence and connect with groups and individuals across multiple channels.
"It is extremely important for us to keep an open line of communication with stakeholders in District 209 who have a vested interest in the progress and success of our school system," Rob Daniel, who serves as the community and public relations coordinator for District 209, said. "Hopefully, by utilizing these methods of communication, we can have a more informed, involved and active following. We hope that parents, teachers, our alumni, and our students will find us so that we can all stay connected and continue to inform."
Daniel said suggestions for the sites are welcome, as the district continually strives to improve communications.
