The River Forest Board of Trustees unanimously approved $382,300 in general-obligation limited tax bonds at a recent meeting to help pay for the Northside Stormwater Management Project.

The board also approved an $82,290 contract for 2016 tree and stump removal services with Tree Solutions/Davis Tree Care Inc. The company was the lowest village-approved bidder for the contract.

The board also authorized Dennis Marani to proceed with a planned development for the Fenwick Soccer Field. Marani wants to install a turf field and lighting by next spring.

Before then, Marani will have to work with village officials to ensure the new plans meet all required regulations, particularly water runoff and groundwater retention, because artificial turf is usually an impermeable surface and could create stormwater issues in the surrounding area.
