Forest Park schools will notice a change in school food options starting Monday, after the school board approved a new food-services agreement with Open Kitchens Inc. at a recent meeting.
The Chicago-based company was founded in 1969 and provides a variety of meal-service packages to schools, daycare centers, country clubs and other institutions.
The board also approved the retirements of Forest Park Middle School (FPMS) secretary Liliana Whalen, FPMS behavior interventionist Bobby Liddell and FPMS seventh-grade math teacher Stephen Drent. Whalen, a 22-year District 91 veteran, plans to retire in June; 10-year veteran Liddell plans to retire in 2017; and 31-year veteran Drent plans to retire in 2019.
