Cook County zoning board holds public hearing on map-amendment request

The Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals held a public hearing recently on a map-amendment request from Land & Lakes Company/Marina Development Inc.

If approved, the request would change the zoning designation for 85.9 acres of property at at 1258 E. 138th St., at the corner of Cottage Grove Avenue, just off the Little Calumet River, from residential to intensive industrial to accommodate a municipal solid-waste transfer station and a recycling and recovery station.
