Hillside board to consider water-rate boost at tonight's meeting

The Hillside village clerk will announce early-voting and other information concerning the March 15 presidential primary at today's village board meeting 7:30 p.m. at the Hillside Municipal Complex, 425 Hillside Ave.

Mail-in ballot requests are available at Village Hall or at

cookcountyclerk.com. Early voting begins Feb. 29 and runs through March 12.

Early voting will open Feb 29. Hillside voters can choose to cast their vote at 3200 Washington Blvd in Bellwood or 1000 N. 25th Ave in Melrose Park. Hillside residents can vote in Bellwood, at 3200 Washington, or in Melrose Park, 1000 N. 25th Ave.

The board also is expected to vote on a water-rate increase of 10 cents per 1,000 gallons, as well as over $19,000 in sewer repairs and $19,260 for four new fire station doors. The water-rate boost, if approved, would take effect April 1.

The Board of the Whole meeting has been moved to March 21 due to a conflict with the March 15 primary.
