The annual Monsters on Mainstreet event, organized by the Brookfield Historical Society and the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce, is set to return on Saturday, October 25. The event features trick-or-treating in the Grand/Prairie and Broadway Avenue business districts from noon until 3 p.m. Participating businesses will display Monsters on Mainstreet signs in their windows.
Starting at 2:30 p.m., families are invited to visit the historic Grossdale Station at 8820½ Brookfield Ave. The first 500 children who arrive for trick-or-treating will receive free pumpkins, taffy apples, and apple cider. A costume contest will begin at 3 p.m., offering prizes in various categories for both children and adults.
