The Village of Western Springs has announced an extension for the public survey concerning the Safe Travel to School Plan. The initiative aims to gather input from residents to enhance the safety and accessibility of routes used by students traveling to local schools. This feedback is considered crucial in shaping a plan that will make Western Springs safer and more connected for students and families.
Residents, including students, parents, and business owners, are encouraged to participate. Over 300 individuals have already contributed their insights regarding student safety during school commutes. "Streets that are safe for children are safe for everyone," a spokesperson stated, urging community-wide participation. Additional engagement opportunities will be available throughout summer and fall via updates on the Village's website and social media platforms.
The online survey is now extended through the end of August. An interactive mapping tool is also provided, allowing participants to highlight specific areas of concern related to school travel safety.
