The Cicero Fire Department is inviting applications for the role of Firefighter/Paramedic, with a starting salary set at $83,545.42. Prospective candidates are encouraged to submit their applications by Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.
Applications can be obtained and completed through IOSolutions.com. All necessary documents must be submitted by the deadline either online, in person, or via mail.
Applicants must meet several requirements: a $35 non-refundable application fee; U.S. citizenship; age between 21 and 34 at the time of appointment (with some exceptions); no felony convictions; a high school diploma or GED equivalent; a valid driver’s license with a good driving record; corrected vision of 20/20; a valid CPAT card with ladder climb dated within 12 months of the application deadline; and an Illinois Paramedic License at the time of hire. Additionally, applicants need to pass further exams and certifications such as Basic Operations Firefighter Certification and Loyola EMS System testing.
Testing will include a written examination and mandatory orientation on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., followed by oral interviews on August 19 and 20, 2025. Successful candidates will receive additional instructions from the Cicero Police & Fire Commission via email.
