River Forest children, ages 6-14, will soon march through village streets in support of homosexuality.

The march is on Monday, June 2 at 6:00 p.m.

Adults backing the march, including River Forest Village Trustee Erika Bachner and River Forest District 90 School Board President Katie Avalos, have promised "fun, giveaways, music and Kona Ice Cone treats" to the children after they complete their march, in Keystone Park, 400 Park Ave.

That's where the children will witness the raising of a pro-homosexuality flag, which will fly alongside the American flag.

Bachner, who says she is "bisexual," is leading advocate in the village for teaching young River Forest children about sex, especially homosexual sex.

In 2022, she helped Willard School, which serves students ages 7-10, organize a "Rainbow Club" to instruct students on varieties of homosexuality.

At the time, she said she had a homosexual child who attended Willard and didn't get the benefit of a Rainbow Club.

Willard School has also added a rainbow-colored bench to its "tot lot" to introduce toddlers and their parents to homosexuality.

Lincoln School students helped decorate a fence in front of their school with "rainbow" colors.

Local governments are using property tax revenue to pay for the walk. They include the Village of River Forest, River Forest Township, the River Forest Park District, River Forest Public Library and River Forest District 90, which is also mandating students participate.

The Oak Park Area Lesbian and Gay Association is also a sponsor of the homosexual march as is the Willard School PTO "Belongingness Committee."

Committee Members are Dorota Szerszenowicz, Kelly O'Keefe, Megan Seliga, Ingrid Payne, Katie Salgado and Ginny Sara.
