The Oak Park Police Department has recently shared a series of updates and announcements via social media, highlighting initiatives for community safety, operational summaries, and notable personnel milestones.

On May 8, 2025, the department highlighted "Safe2Help Illinois offers a safe, confidential way to share info that might help prevent suicides, bullying, school violence or other threats to school safety. Call, Text, Chat or Email. Once vetted, the tips will immediately be shared with local school officials, mental health". This initiative aims to provide a secure platform for sharing potentially life-saving information regarding threats to school safety.

The following day on May 9, 2025, they announced that "The latest summary of police activity is now posted at https://t.co/XkLEA6lbw0." The post directs the public to their website for updated reports on police activities within the community.

Later that day on May 9th, the department extended well-wishes to a long-serving member of their team: "The Oak Park Police Department sends best wishes to retiring Oak Park Fire Chief Ron Kobyleski, who was honored this morning with a final walkout. Chief Koby served the Village for 40 years. We thank you for your service. Enjoy retirement, Chief!" The acknowledgment marked the retirement of Fire Chief Ron Kobyleski after four decades of dedicated service.
