Village of Brookfield Committee of the Whole met March 24

MEMBERS PRESENT: Village President Michael Garvey, Trustee Edward Cote, Trustee Nicole Gilhooley, and Trustee Julie Narimatsu

MEMBERS ABSENT: Village Clerk Brigid Weber, Trustee Jennifer Hendricks, Trustee Kathryn Kaluzny, and Trustee Kit Ketchmark

STAFF PRESENT: Adam Durkin, Michael Kuruvilla, Noah Rife, Tim Wiberg, Stevie Ferrari, Libby Popovic, and Doug Cooper

REGULAR BUSINESS

Discussion of Property Improvement Grant Request for 9118 Broadway

Community Development Director Libby Popovic provides background on a PIP grant request for Tischler Finer Foods at 9118 Broadway Ave. The scope of the project is to enhance the exterior of the building by painting the roof, updating the middle wall stripe, and upgrading signage with the total cost of $10,000. The applicant is applying for $5,000. The Economic Development Commission recommended approval of the PIP grant. Comments and questions were made by President Garvey and Trustee Gilhooley.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Marie Duffek comments on buckthorn removal at South Kiwanis Park and asks if it was related to a grant for a trail. Marie Duffek also asks if the Village has received a grant for a trail at South Kiwanis Park.
