Congressman Jesús "Chuy" García, representing Illinois’s 4th district since 2019, has been vocal recently on several key issues via Twitter. García succeeded Luis Gutiérrez and has a background in serving both the Illinois Senate and the Cook County Board of Commissioners.
On April 10, 2025, Congressman García stated his commitment to standing with Kilmar Abrego Garcia's family and the Hispanic Caucus to demand Kilmar's return to the United States. García emphasized that "the Trump admin admits Kilmar was wrongfully deported to El Salvador," describing the situation as "a shameful and cruel injustice."
