Congressman Jesús "Chuy" García, representing Illinois’s 4th district since 2019, has been vocal recently on several key issues via Twitter. García succeeded Luis Gutiérrez and has a background in serving both the Illinois Senate and the Cook County Board of Commissioners.
On April 10, 2025, Congressman García stated his commitment to standing with Kilmar Abrego Garcia's family and the Hispanic Caucus to demand Kilmar's return to the United States. García emphasized that "the Trump admin admits Kilmar was wrongfully deported to El Salvador," describing the situation as "a shameful and cruel injustice." García asserted, "We will not rest until Kilmar is brought home." Link
The following day, April 11, García expressed pride in collaborating with his Hispanic Caucus colleagues by sending a letter addressing the Trump administration. He insists on halting the administration from allegedly "weaponizing taxpayer data to enact his mass deportation agenda" and warns of breaches in public trust. Link
