On February 17, an Illinois Lottery player won a $1 million jackpot by purchasing a Lotto ticket online. The player matched all six numbers in the Lotto Million 1 drawing, which were 8-16-20-25-42-46.
Since the start of the year, over 930,000 Lotto tickets have been sold, awarding Illinois Lottery players more than $14.7 million in prizes. The game is exclusive to Illinois and is played three times weekly on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. Currently, the Lotto jackpot stands at $2.6 million.
Lotto offers two additional drawings besides the regular one: Lotto Million 1 and Lotto Million 2. These provide further chances for players to win a $1 million prize by matching six numbers.
Tickets can be bought in-store, online, or via the Illinois Lottery app. More information is available at IllinoisLottery.com.
The Illinois Lottery emphasizes responsible play: "Playing the lottery should be a fun form of entertainment. Please remember to set a limit and stick to it." Players must be 18 or older to participate.
Established in 1974, the Illinois Lottery has contributed over $25 billion to support K-12 public education through the State’s Common School Fund since 1985. Nearly 99% of its proceeds benefit this fund. The lottery also supports various other causes as per state law.
