City of Northlake City Council met April 15

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT: ALDERMAN STRAUBE

ALDERMAN FELDMANN

ALDERMAN JOHNSON

ALDERMAN GROCHOWSKI

ALDERMAN PATTI

PRESENT VIA CONFERENCE BRIDGE: ALDERMAN CONTRERAS

ABSENT: ALDERMAN SOSA

ALDERMAN URBINA

OTHERS PRESENT: KEN BERES, CHIEF OF POLICE

TONY FACIANO, PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT

MARK STERK, CITY ATTORNEY

CAROL LAMPARD, FINANCE DIRECTOR

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Alderman Contreras participating in the meeting via conference bridge; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on April 1, 2024.

Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on April 1, 2024; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON APRIL 1, 2024 CARRIED

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the Public Hearing held on April 1, 2024. Alderman Feldmann made a motion to approve the minutes of the Public Hearing held on April 1, 2024; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The minutes were approved.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING HELD ON APRIL 1, 2024 CARRIED

Mayor Sherwin presented a motion to reappoint Jay Militello to the Police Pension Board.

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: ALDERMEN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, CONTRERAS, JOHNSON, GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI

ABSENT: ALDERMEN SOSA AND URBINA

NAYS: NONE

MOTION TO REAPPOINT JAY MILITELLO TO THE

POLICE PENSION BOARD CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman

Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: ALDERMEN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, CONTRERAS, JOHNSON,

GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI

ABSENT: ALDERMEN SOSA AND URBINA

NAYS: NONE

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Ordinance O-09-2024; An Ordinance Providing for the Issue of $210,000 General Obligation Covenant Bonds (SSA No. 3) Series 2024, of the City of Northlake, Cook County, Illinois; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: ALDERMEN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, CONTRERAS, JOHNSON, GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI

ABSENT: ALDERMEN SOSA AND URBINA

NAYS: NONE

MOTION TO APPROVE ORDINANCE O-09-2024; AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUE OF $210,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION COVENANT BONDS (SSA NO. 3) SERIES 2024 , OF THE CITY OF NORTHLAKE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS CARRIED

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve Ordinance O-10-2024; An Ordinance Providing for the Issue of $235,000 General Obligation Covenant Bonds (SSA No. 4) Series 2024, of the City of Northlake, Cook County, Illinois; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: ALDERMEN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, CONTRERAS, JOHNSON, GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI

ABSENT: ALDERMEN SOSA AND URBINA

NAYS: NONE

MOTION TO APPROVE ORDINANCE O-10-2024; AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $235,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION COVENANT BONDS (SSA NO. 4) SERIES 2024, OF THE CITY OF NORTHLAKE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS CARRIED

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

MOTION TO ADJOURN CARRIED
