Brookfield Zoo has announced that a repaving project will commence in the South Park Lot starting Monday, May 13 and is expected to continue through Friday, May 17. The construction work is scheduled to take place between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day, although weather conditions could potentially impact this timeline.

During the project's duration, zoo officials are requesting all guests, including members, to utilize the North Parking Lot located at 31st Street and Golfview Avenue.

Key stakeholders such as the Riverside-Brookfield High School administration, Brookfield Police and Fire departments, and Riverside Public Safety have been informed about the impending work and its potential impacts on both the school and wider community during this period.

Furthermore, Brookfield Zoo has notified the Village of Brookfield about an increase in attendance rates, particularly among school groups. In the upcoming three weeks alone, over 2,000 buses transporting approximately 85,000 students and staff from 835 schools are slated to visit the zoo according to Police Chief Michael Kuruvilla.
