The Permits & Development Division of the Village of Oak Park is actively promoting Building Safety Month this May. Established by the International Code Council, this initiative aims to highlight the importance of regularly updating building codes and the role of officials in enforcing these regulations.
As part of the awareness campaign, the Permits & Development Division is organizing a Building Safety Month Open House on Wednesday, May 15, at Village Hall. The event will feature department tours, information on upcoming construction projects, free refreshments, and opportunities for the public to engage in Q&A sessions with Village officials responsible for various aspects of building safety.
According to a recent proclamation issued by the Village Board, there is a concerted effort to raise awareness about the significance of safeguarding lives and property through the adoption and enforcement of building codes.
