Construction of the new Burlington Avenue storm sewer will impact the intersection of Burlington and Prairie Avenues on Wednesday, May 1 and Thursday, May 2, as announced by the authorities. The contractor responsible for the project will be installing a new 42-inch storm sewer on Burlington Avenue through Prairie Avenue during this time.

To facilitate the construction work, the contractor will set up barricades, temporary pavement markings, and informational signage in the area. Traffic will be rerouted to the west half of Prairie Avenue initially, with plans to shift it to the east side once work progresses. A temporary one-way traffic setup will be implemented for a period of 2 to 4 hours, with flaggers assisting in traffic flow through the intersection.

"We have informed the contractor that this temporary one-way traffic setup will need to be completed between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to avoid large backups forming from vehicles that are commuting to/from work," said the officials, urging motorists to exercise patience and caution during this phase of construction.
