Village of Western Springs Board of Fire and Police Commissioners met April 17

Present: Chair Marcia Buell; Commissioner James Maragos; Chief of Police, Sean Gilhooley and Assistant to Village Manager, Daisy Chavez
Absent: Commissioner Janet Dahl and Deputy Chief of Police, Ashlee Niezgoda
Agenda Items:
1. Call to Order
Chair Buell called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
2. Roll Call
Chair Marcia Buell and Commissioner James Maragos were present. Also present were Sean Gilhooley,
Chief of Police and Daisy Chavez, Assistant to Village Manager.
3. Approval of Meeting Minutes
Chair Buell made a motion to approve the meeting minutes of April 10, 2023. Commissioner Maragos seconded the motion. The motion was approved by voice vote.
4. Public Comment
No public comment.
5. Recess to close session
Recess to Closed Session 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) - Discussion of the appointment, employment, compensation discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employee(s) of the public body. Chair Buell made a motion to move to close session. Commissioner Maragos seconded the motion. The motion passed on a unanimous voice vote and closed session began at 6:01 p.m.
6. Reconvene to open meeting
Reconvene to Open Session. Chair Buell made a motion to reconvene to open session. Commissioner Maragos seconded the motion. The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote and open session reconvened at 6:14 p.m.
7. Certification of the Initial Lateral Entry Eligibility List
Commissioner Maragos made a motion to certify the Initial Eligibility List for the position of Police Lateral Officer. Chair Buell seconded the motion. The motion passed on a unanimous voice vote.
8. Other Business
None.
9. Adjourn
Commissioner Maragos made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Chair Buell. The motion passed on a unanimous voice vote. The meeting was adjourned at 6:21 p.m.
