Stars Prevail in High Scoring Battle

The Dominican University baseball team were back in action with a game against Trine University.  

Game Results:
Dominican:17
Trine:13 

How it Happened:
-Trine takes the lead in the bottom of the first inning with three runs on three hits. 
-DU responded right away, on a one out double by Junior Anthony Nalbono.
-The Thunder get the lead back to three runs with a run on three hits. 
-Dominican brings it back to two on an RBI double by Junior Matt Galdi. Senior Garrett Wano bring in Galdi with a double of his own. Junior Matthew Partridge continues the double streak with his own that brought in Wano. Stars tie it up with a three run third inning. 
-Trine grabs the lead right back with one run on two htis. 
-Galdi drives in his second RBI of the day with a two out single. DU takes the lead with Wano driving in his second RBI. Dominican adds another on a wild pitch, making it a 7-5 lead for the Stars going into the bottom of the fourth. 
-Trine continues to score in every inning by scoring two runs on three hits. 
-Dominican takes back the lead on a wild pitch. DU continues to add to the lead on a RBI single by Junior Grayson Downing. Galdi continues his phenomenal day with a 2 RBI double. 
-The Thunder continued to score in every inning by scoring on a wild pitch. Making the score 11-8 Dominican going into the top of the sixth.
-DU adds on to their lead with a two run homerun by Wano.
-Trine puts up three runs to make the score 13-11 going into the top of the 8th. 
-The Stars get the lead back to three with a two out RBI single by Downing . Galdi continues his day at the plate with his third RBI double of the afternoon. Wano strings along a thrid straight two out hit brining in Galdi. 
-DU adds to the lead with an RBI single by Senior Austin Doty. 
-The Thunder get two runs in the bottom of the 9th, but it is not enough to extend the game. 
-Eight of the nine Dominican hitters reached base, and seven of the eight had a hit. 


Shining Stars:
-Junior Matt Galdi led the Stars with three doubles. 
-Senior Garrett Wano had four hits including his third homerun of the year. 
-Junior Matthew Partridge went 3-4 at the plate including an RBI double. 
-Junior Anthony Nalbono went 2-5 with a RBI double. 
-Junior Grayson Downing went 3-6 with 2 RBI's and 3 runs scored.

The Dominican University baseball team will be back in action March 9th with a double header against Minnesota Morris starting at 1:45 p.m. ET
