Proviso Township High School District 209 Board of Education Facilities Committee met March 1.

The Board of Education Facilities Committee Meeting of the Proviso Township High Schools was held in the Proviso Mathematics and Science Academy, Auditorium, 8601 W. Roosevelt Road, Forest Park, IL. The public was also able to view the meeting via livestream.
1. Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 3:48pm by Board Chairperson Amanda Grant via TEAMS. Other attendees included: L.T. Taylor, Nancy Governale (FMP Consultant), John Smith, and Lamont Bennett. TEAMS attendees included: Dr. Henderson, Dr. Williams, Al McDonald, Leon House, and Leonard Moody; Mark Jolicoeur, Michael Dolter, and Carl Giometti, (Perkins & Will); Michelle McClendon (Gilbane).
2. Established a quorum.

There were no citizen’s comments.
4. Minutes Approval
The February 2021 Minutes were reviewed and approved.
5. FMP Updates
Perkins & Will presented:
Phase 2 – Summer 2022 Design Schedule
o Board Notice to Proceed (NTP) letter to be presented at the March 15th meeting; Gilbane drafts letter – contractors to begin after; attach letter to RTA (Recommendation to Award)
Next –
o Elara Engineering does not recommend the installation of the solar panel system; however, move toward future inclusion
o Mr. Moody asked that links for potential solar panel vendors be forwarded to him for review.
Gilbane:
o In 2020, Gilbane established a new 20% corporate small and diverse participation goal on all projects.
o Bid packages are broken up to allow smaller firms an opportunity to bid
o Ms. Grant asked if the summer internship program was going to continue – Ms. McClendon responded affirmatively and stated that the program would be open to students 16 years and older (juniors and seniors); one student would be chosen
6. Building Updates
Mr. Taylor, Mr. McDonald, and Mr. House presented the Building Updates respectively by campus with several photos.
➢ WEST: Community Outreach held on 2.21.2022; Orkin worked over the weekend; construction packing of classrooms scheduled for March 15th; upcoming IHSA Sectionals
➢ EAST: preventative maintenance; door handle upgrades; a leak in the C tunnel to be fixed
➢ PMSA: Benefits Department moved from 1st floor to the 5th in Human Resources; replaced a piston in the snowplow; JCI called in for maintenance on the sprinkler system
7. New Business
There was no new business.
