There have been 576,907 confirmed coronavirus cases in Cook County as of April 27, with 6,967 deaths linked to the virus, according to data from the state Department of Public Health (IDPH).

Chicago (579,765 cases) and Cook County (576,907 cases) posted the highest numbers statewide. Chicago's death toll from the virus stands at 7,366, while Cook County recorded 6,967 deaths, according to the IDPH.

Illinois residents who have been tested for COVID-19 now number 0, the department reported. And the age group with the most confirmed cases was under 20, with 702,008 people in the age group testing positive for the virus.

Among all those testing positive in Illinois, 1,452,851 were male and 1,630,080 were female, the IDPH said. Male deaths linked to coronavirus numbered 18,356, while female deaths stood at 15,236.

Broken down according to race, the fatalities consisted of 21,122 whites, 6,194 African-Americans, 4,668 Hispanics, 1,033 Asians, and 575 belonging to other races or who did not provide their ethnicity before they died.
