Report: J. Sterling Morton School District spent $14,123 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at J. Sterling Morton High School District 201 was up 25.1 percent from five years ago, according to the West Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $11,285 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $14,123 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 8,290 to 8,053 students over the same period.

J. Sterling Morton's spending in 2019-20 was 2.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
