City of Northlake City Council Met October 19

City of Northlake City Council met Oct. 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT:                 Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Garcia Johnson, 

Gonzalez, Grochowski And Patti

OTHERS PRESENT: Mark Sterk, Attorney

Norm Nissen, Chief Of Police

Mark Rail, Public Works

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on October 5, 2020. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on October 5, 2020; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 5, 2020

CITY COUNCIL MEETING CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the reappointment of Jay Militello to the Police Pension Board; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Garcia, Johnson, Gonzalez, Grochowski, And Patti

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE THE REAPPOINTMENT OF JAY MILITELLO

TO THE POLICE PENSION BOARD CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the reappointment of Gabriel Saucedo to the Zoning Board of Appeals; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Garcia, Johnson, Gonzalez, Grochowski, And Patti

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE THE REAPPOINTMENT OF GABRIEL SAUCEDO

TO THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the warrants and vouchers; seconded by Alderman Johnson. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Garcia, Johnson, Gonzalez, Grochowski, And Patti

NAYS: None

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE WARRANTS AND VOUCHERS CARRIED

Mayor Sherwin noted an issue with the gaming license fees needing to be paid upfront. There was a discussion about perhaps billing quarterly. The annual budget meeting was set for November 5, 2020 at 6:00 pm.

Alderman Patti made a motion to refer Grievance #20-140 to the Hearing Officer; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

MOTION TO REFER GRIEVANCE #20-140 TO THE HEARING OFFICER CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve a speed bump in the area of 265 Dickens in the amount of $3,950.00; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Garcia, Johnson, Gonzalez, Grochowski, And Patti

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE A SPEED BUMP IN THE AREA OF 265 DICKENS

IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,950.00 CARRIED

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve the purchase of Police Officer Body Worn Camera System and In Car Video System Upgrade; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Garcia, Johnson, Gonzalez, Grochowski, And Patti

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF POLICE OFFICER BODY WORN CAMERA SYSTEM AND IN CAR VIDEO SYSTEM UPGRADE CARRIED

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
