City of Northlake City Council Met October 5

City of Northlake City Council met Oct. 5.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT:                Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Johnson, 

Gonzalez, Grochowski And Patti

ABSENT:                   Alderman Garcia

OTHERS PRESENT: Carol Lampard, Finance Director

Mark Sterk, Attorney

Norm Nissen, Chief Of Police

Tony Faciano, Superintendent Public Works

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the combined finance and city council meeting held on September 14, 2020. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the finance and city council meeting held on September 14, 2020; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Motion To Accept The Minutes Of The September 14, 2020 Combined Finance And City Council Meeting Carried

Alderman Feldmann made a motion to accept the warrants and vouchers; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:             Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Johnson,

Gonzalez, Grochowski, And Patti 

NAYS:                       None

ABSENT:                   Alderman Garcia

Motion To Pay The Warrants And Vouchers Carried

Mayor Sherwin reiterated the Halloween placards will be available to residents for their windows. He also mentioned a video would soon be on Facebook regarding Halloween procedures and the Kiwanis story walk. Alderman Patti noted the Youth Commission virtual story hour through the Northlake Library went extremely well. Alderman Feldmann had a question about polling place security.

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Resolution R-18-2020; A Resolution Approving A Change in Terms Agreement Between the City of Northlake and First American Bank; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

NAYS:                       None

ABSENT:                   Alderman Garcia

Motion To Approve Resolution R-18-2020; A Resolution Approving A Change In Terms Agreement Between The City Of Northlake And First American Bank Carried

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve Ordinance O-14-2020; An Ordinance Establishing the Number of Liquor Licenses and Amending Section 3-3-4-6 of the City Code of the City of Northlake, Cook County, Illinois; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:             Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Johnson,

Gonzalez, Grochowski, And Patti 

NAYS:                       None

ABSENT:                   Alderman Garcia

Motion To Approve Ordinance O-14-2020; An Ordinance Establishing The Number Of Liquor Licenses And Amending Section 3-3-4-6 Of The City Code Of The City Of Northlake, Cook County, Illinois Carried

Resident Jennifer Barnes presented a petition signed by residents requesting a speed bump near MacLean and Dickens Avenue because of speeding vehicles.

A resident commented on past polling place issues.

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

MOTION TO ADJOURN CARRIED
