Black Republican leaders across Illinois have formed the Illinois Black Republican Coalition (ILBRC).

A press release issued by the ILBRC on Sept. 3 said the coalition will lead the Illinois GOP’s outreach to the Black community. The ILBRC seeks to promote a platform is based on free enterprise, strong families, school choice and self-reliance, as well as present itself as a political home to those who feel abandoned and disillusioned by the Democratic Party.

“From crumbling inner-city neighborhoods in East St. Louis, to the daily reports of violence in Chicago and the falling down public housing in Cairo – the Black community in Illinois deserves more than this failure of leadership,” the ILBRC said in the release. “The ILBRC believes that Republican ideas and principles provide a better way.”

The ILBRC has placed more information about the organization online.
