Village of La Grange Park Sustainability Commission met Aug. 3.

Here is the agenda provided by the commission:

1. Call To Order

2. Chairman Statement: This meeting is being held remotely as a meeting with a quorum of the public body physically present is not practical or prudent due to the State’s Declaration of Disaster due to the impacts of COVID-19

3. Confirmation that all commissioners/members of the public can hear & reminder that all motions need to be passed by a roll call vote

4. Public Comment

5. Approval of Minutes – July 6, 2020 (Roll Call Vote)

a. Native Plant Bike Tour – Follow up to the Village of La Grange Environmental Quality Commission’s request for case studies of past tours as they plan to move forward with a bike tour

b. ComEd Grant – Butterfly Gardens (Plan & Update to be presented at a later date)

c. Recycling Opportunities: battery recycling at November Pumpkin Smash

d. Review of Sustainability Plan – Top 3 Priorities identified – Next Steps

1. Develop a paragraph for each option to be shared with the board

2. Start to develop specific projects

e. Greenest Region Compact 2 – Overview to be presented to the Village Board by Krista Grimm in August

f. SolSMART – Presentation to the Board by Jeff Nee in August

g. Facebook Page – Status and Ideas for Posts

h. Future Articles for Publication – Status Update

• Brook Park Schools Underground Strom Water Detention (Rick to provide)

• Native Gardens in La Grange Park (Kathy to provide)

j. Other

• Opportunity to co-sponsor an event with the League of Women Voters: Speaker Kent Taylor on the Climate Reality Project
