A local organization wants to help students anxious about navigating the unique challenges of learning remotely in the pandemic era of education, ABC 7 Eyewitness News reported.
The unprecedented challenges accompanying the upcoming school year are causing many students and parents no small amount of worry.
The Chicago Scholars, a non-profit organization that mentors and supports students from traditionally disadvantaged communities, seeks to help needy students navigate e-learning, find scholarships and help with the financial aid process, ABC 7 reported in August.
Starting this fall, the organization will advise hundreds of students via video chat to ensure that they meet college deadlines, ABC 7 reported. They will also be helping students connect with college admissions counselors nationwide and will also provide laptops and other devices to needy students that need them for e-learning.
With the help of donations, Chicago Scholars has served more than 4,000 students across the Chicago area.
Since March, Chicago Scholars has granted $60,000 in financial relief to students in need who have been adversely affected by the pandemic, ABC 7 reported.
