Analysis: Westchester pays $3.36 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Westchester Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 76.5 percent of the $1,060,638 the Westchester Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.36 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Westchester contributed $810,903 to the fund, which saw a $42,975 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $240,713, or 22.7 percent, in 2018. Another $9,022 came from other unspecified sources.
