2019 Recap: Parolees in Elmwood Park convicted of homicide

There were two offenders convicted of homicide released on parole in Elmwood Park during 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the West Cook News.

The data shows that a man and woman were released in Elmwood Park. The younger parolee was a 40-year-old woman sentenced in 2014. The other was a 43-year-old man sentenced in 1997.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was William Negron. He was convicted of homicide in 1997 when he was 20 years old. He is now 43.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
