City of Berwyn issued the following announcement on April 3.
Please read message from Berwyn Park District regarding guidelines for park path use and other stipulations for park/recreation use during the Shelter in Place Order
As of March 25, 2020 ALL Berwyn Park Districts have issued an order to close all Park District courts (including tennis, basketball, volleyball and pickleball) and all fields.
Playgrounds were previously closed on March 20, 2020.
As of 5:00pm on March 25, 2020, an additional order states organized and unorganized sport games or competition, such as baseball, softball, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, tag, football or similar activities, between persons at public parks or outdoor recreation areas are prohibited in order to protect the public from the spread of COVID-19 disease.
Such activities could entail or promote non-compliance with the social distancing requirements set forth in Governor Pritzker’s Order.
Residents are welcomed to walk, or run on park paths
following social distancing guidelines.
