Monday January 6, 2020
Meeting Minutes
Call to order: The meeting for the Fire & Police Commission was called to order by CommissionerMaritza Souchet at 6:00 pm.
Roll Call / Quorum: Present is Commissioner Maritza Souchet, Commissioner Irene Herrera, Commissioner Guillermo Rios and Secretary MargaritaWhaley. Also in attendance was Director of Police Mike Witz and Fire Chief Bill Brehm. Trustee Ruhl entered at 6:02.
Approval of Minutes: A motion to approve the December 2,2019 meeting minutes was made by Commissioner Souchet with a second by Commissioner Herrera. Motion passed.
Communications:
Chief Brehm: Michael Turf resigned, so we have an opening and an okay to hire from the mayor. We need to start going in order and see who is available off the eligibility list.
Director Witz: Next candidate has passed everything and just needs to take the Power Test. We have2 retirements coming up so we will see the timetable on that.
Trustee Ruhl : Complimented the Fire & Police Departments for the exceptional job that has been done over the past year.
