Proviso Township Board met Dec. 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

1) CALL TO ORDER

The Board of Town Trustees of the Town of Proviso met at the Office of the Township Clerk, 4565 Harrison Street, Hillside, IL 60162 on Wednesday, December 18, 2019.

2) ROLL CALL

Supervisor Corrigan called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. and on a roll call the following responded: Trustees Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Herrell and Supervisor Corrigan. Also present were Clerk Williams, Assessor Zawaski, and Attorney Durkin.

3) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Supervisor Corrigan led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.

4) APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Trustee Chavez moved, seconded by Trustee Herrell that the Board of Trustees approve the minutes of the Township Board Meeting held on December 2, 2019.

Discussion: None

Ayes: Trustees Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Herrell and Supervisor Corrigan

Nays: None

Absent: None

Motion carried

Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Trustee Christopher that the Board of Trustees approve the closed session minutes of the Township Board held on November 20, 2019

Ayes: Trustee Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Herrell and Supervisor Corrigan

Nays: None

Absent: None

Motion carried

5) APPROVAL OF BILLS

Trustee Christopher moved, seconded by Trustee Chaez that the Board of Trustees approve payment of the bills submitted for December 1, 2019 – December 15, 2019

Ayes: Trustees Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Herrell and Supervisor Corrigan

Nays: None

Absent: None

6) ATTORNEY REPORT

Filing Tax Levy Friday; Happy Holidays

7) CLOSED SESSION

None.

8) OLD BUSINESS

A. Supervisor’s Report – No warrants. Flyer for Martin Luther King event.  Legislative report in packet. Proviso Idol was here and recognized.

B. Clerk’s Report – None

C. Trustee’s Report – Trustee Thomas had a luncheon today with various organizations and villages participating in census. Money will be given to villages to participate. The amount has not yet been determined. Proviso Township is behind on the census, lots of work to do.

D. Elected Officials Report – None

E. Staff Report – Lorenzo Webber, Youth Services wanted to say thank you to Proviso Idol for their help and effort with the Westchester Food Drive.

9) NEW BUSINESS

A. Consideration to approve specific personnel matters requiring board action.

10) PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

Paul Arias, 2521 Des Plaines Ave, Riverside – brought letter to discuss case, given to the Supervisor. Seeking his job back.

11) ADJOURNMENT

Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Trustee Christopher that the Board of Trustees adjourns the meeting at 5:50 p.m.
