With new technologies, younger patients are no longer encouraged to delay joint replacement. Denice Schafer was in her late forties when she started falling frequently. After neurological testing and many doctors’ exams, Schafer realized that she had severe arthritis, which led not only to her recurring falls but constant back pain and migraine headaches as well.
