Dear St. Luke Parish School Community,
Hello and happy summer to all!
I officially began my role as Principal of St. Luke School on July 1st and consider it a privilege to be here and to be a part of the St. Luke community.
I am a product of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Chicago, having attended Queen of the Rosary Grade School and Sacred Heart of Mary (St. Viator) High School.
For close to 30 years I have been blessed to work in Catholic Education, both as a teacher and administrator, and truly there is no place that I would rather be! My Catholic educator career began at, believe it or not, another St. Luke Parish School in Brookfield, Wisconsin, where I served as a Middle School teacher for 19 years. I began my administration career at St. Andrew Parish School, where I served as Principal for 3 years. I then moved back to Chicago and served as Principal at Old St. Mary’s School in the South Loop for the last 6 years. I enjoyed my time at Old St. Mary’s but wanted to move on to an opportunity at another Catholic school that is closer to my home in Westchester. I am thrilled to have that opportunity here with all of you!
I look forward to working with the incredible teaching staff here at St. Luke, as well as with you and your wonderful children. I truly cannot wait to meet all of them and work with you to grow in faith and knowledge and continue to make St. Luke School a great place to be.
By now, you all should have received the Summer Packet email. The Back to School edition of the Weekly Bulletin will be sent in August and will address staff hires and classroom assignments, along with a lot of other valuable and important information as we get ready to begin the 2019-2020 school year.
In the meantime, I hope you and your family are relaxing and enjoying the summer. I look forward to meeting all of you and to partnering with you to make this a wonderful school year! I will be in the office most days during the summer so please feel free to stop in, email or call.
Again, I am honored to have been given the chance to serve as your next Principal and I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you.
God’s Summer Blessings to All,
Julie Martin
Principal
